Tilton-Zohar Fight Over Stila Cosmetics Returned To Chancery

Law360 (June 21, 2021, 7:54 p.m. EDT) – Business turnaround entrepreneur Lynn Tilton suffered a setback Monday in her Chancery Court fight to retain control of Stila Cosmetics, with a Delaware bankruptcy judge sending the case to Vice Chancellor Joseph R. Slights III after a brief push to suppress Tilton successfully.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Karen B. Owens has ruled that while related litigation involving Stila is also pending in the Chapter 11 case, the Chancellery lawsuit, filed by the “Zohar III Note Investors “in Tilton’s disintegrating fleet of companies of charges involving a purely state issue of internal corporate governance and other characteristics warranting dismissal ….
