C. Kenneth Still died on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at his home, his body exhausted after three battles with cancer. (He wanted you to know which killed the old goat.)

He was born on April 8, 1932 in Cleveland, Tennessee at the end Wallace Vasco Still and Stella Nipper Still. He was the second of four children born from this marriage. He attended public schools in Cleveland and Bradley County except one year at Tunnel Hill, Georgia, graduated from Bradley High School in 1949. Later in life he attended UTC in Chattanooga.

On June 6, 1953, he married Barbara Jean McLain and they had three children, Chuck, Stephen and Robin. In December 1955, they joined Brainerd Baptist Church of which they are still members. Ken served as deacon, president of deacons, and Sunday school teacher. He also has served on the House and Grounds committee and several other positions.

On January 1, 1968, at the request of District Judge Frank Wilson, Arbitrator Byron Pope appointed him Chapter 13 Administrator for the Chattanooga and Winchester Divisions of US Bankruptcy Courts of the Eastern District of Tennessee. He also served as Chapter 12 administrator for all of East Tennessee and was listed in Chapter 7 Panel of Trustees, as well as Chapter 11 Trustee. During his 47 years trustee mandate, he and bankruptcy judge Ralph H. Kelley developed

several procedures, forms and other useful questions that have been adopted by several courts across the country. Ken helped develop the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees and was its president in the early years. He was honored by the Association at retirement. He retired on December 31, 2014, Exactly 47 years after his appointment.

He was a longtime member of the Brainerd Kiwanis Club and served in several positions.

Ken is survived by his wonderful wife Barbara; son, Chuck, Stephen L. and his wife Kelly; daughter, Robin Wintrinham; grandchildren, McLain and his wife Molly, Delaney West and her husband Terry, Chip Wintringham, Jennifer Ann Wintringham, David Howard and his wife Ina, Jonathan Howard and his wife Melanie, Kathryn Howard; great-grandchildren, Liam Still and Max Mazie; sisters, Linda Massengale and Mary Ellen McCoy; and a whole bunch of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by her brother, James V. Still.

The family will receive friends on Monday June 14, 2021 in the East Brainerd Chapel from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The funeral will be at the Brainerd Baptist Church on Tuesday June 15, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Barry Wilks officiating. (300 Brookfield Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37411)

Interment to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with his sons Chuck and Steve Still, grandsons McLain Still, Chip Wintringham and David Howard and his nephew, Mark Lemons, as active carriers. Honorary bearers will be Bill Pryor, Quinton Howard, Hal North, Jim Lane, Jerry Farinash and Scott Brown.

“It was a great race and God blessed me with a wonderful wife, super kids and amazing grandchildren, friends, church and too many other things to list. To Him must go the glory for all that I have accomplished.

“Sunset and evening star and a clear call to me. That there is not mourning at the bar when I went to sea.
