Girardi: claims accumulate before bankruptcy deadline

Law360 (June 23, 2021, 11:26 p.m. EDT) – Creditors filed $ 46 million in additional claims against Girardi Keese ahead of a court deadline on Wednesday, bringing the total amount allegedly owed by the firm to $ 129 million bankruptcy lawyers founded by disgraced plaintiffs lawyer Thomas V. Girardi.

The occasion marks a grim stage for Girardi Keese, which was once a national mass crime hub before being dragged into involuntary bankruptcy in December, just days after Girardi admitted he stole $ 2 million to a settlement fund for orphans and airplane crash victims in a case he had handled.
